Rotary Club of Cochin Midtown was sponsored by Rotary Club of Cochin East in June 1983 and received the Charter on 24th October 1983, as the 5th club in Cochin. Cochin, popularly known as "Queen of the Arabian Sea", is a small town on the western coast of the southern part of India, in the tiny state of Kerala. She has beautiful backwaters, lush vegetation, tall buildings, dense traffic, plenty of people - about 1.7 million and 24 Rotary Clubs.

Our Club, has, over the years, grown into stature and has made indelible mark in meeting the needs of the community. The club established 10 telephone booths providing employment opportunity to physically disabled persons, erected 5 permanent arches in the city to stop proliferation of temporary arches which hindered traffic, established a temporary home for the street children (and gave them Identity Cards from the City Police) with the help of Corporation of Cochin, donated a speed radar to the City Police to contain the speed menace, assisted RVC to get an ambulance boat for the large number of people living in the close-by islands, and so on.

We also have a few projects which we conduct every year. Midday Meal Scheme for primary school children (10th year), House Magazine Contest (12th year), Free Drug Bank at Government Hospital (6th year), Rotary Double Wicket Cricket Tournament (6th year) and Sruthi (an inter-club group-music competition - 6th year) are the major continuing projects.

Our club has sponsored five Rotary Clubs (of Ernakulam, Tripunithura, Cochin Global, Cochin Lords and Kattappana Heritage), one Rotaract Club (of Cochin Midtown), two Interact Clubs (of Bhavans Girinagar and Choice School) and RVCs at Bolgatty Island and Chellanam.

At present we have 58 members. The average of age is 36 (oldest 71, youngest 27). We have a monthly bulletin - Midlines. We meet on all Fridays at 7.30PM at International Hotel.
